Animals Flashcards
Eighteen faces to meet, name and remember

From the family cat to a lion mid-roar, this set of 18 real-photo flashcards introduces little ones to the animals they'll meet in books, on farms, and at the zoo. Real photography (not illustrations) helps children connect the word to the actual animal — a cow really does look like that — building vocabulary and recognition that carries over into everyday life.

Print, cut and laminate the full set for a resource that holds up to years of little hands. Sort the cards into farm animals, pets and wild animals to build early categorising skills, hold one up and ask "what sound does this animal make?", or print a second set for a classic memory-matching game. For something more open-ended, try "guess who" — describe a feature ("I have a long trunk") and have your child find the match.

This resource also connects to activities inside the Joyora app, so learning continues beyond the cards.

What's included:

  • 18 flashcards, colour-coded for easy sorting

  • Farm animals, pets and wild animals in one set

Why we love it: real photos do double duty — vocabulary building for toddlers, and a springboard into bigger conversations about habitats and animal facts for older children.

Ages: 0–8 · Best for: vocabulary building, sorting games, memory match, and quiet independent play
