How sign-up works on our website
Last updated: 16 October 2026
This page explains what happens when you join Joyora on our website: what we ask for, where it goes and how long we keep it. Our privacy policy has the full detail.
What we ask for
We ask for your first name, your email and the plan you choose. That's all.
You pay on a secure page run by Airwallex, our payment provider. Your card details go to Airwallex, not to us. We never see or store them. We send Airwallex your email and your plan so it can set up your subscription.
Before you pay
When you press "Continue to secure checkout", we save your first name, email and plan. This lets us match your payment to your account when you first sign in to the app.
If you don't finish paying, we delete these details after 30 days.
If you do pay, we keep them as the record of your subscription. When you first sign in to the app, we use your first name for your profile, unless it already has one.
Checking you're a person
The Join form uses Cloudflare Turnstile. It's a quick check that tells people from automated programs. Most of the time you don't need to do anything. It runs in your browser, and Cloudflare's privacy policy explains what it looks at. We then ask Cloudflare to confirm the result.
Stopping repeated attempts
To stop misuse, we limit how often someone can try to join: 5 tries an hour for one email, and 20 tries an hour from one network.
To count tries from one network, we use your device's internet address (its IP address). Our website passes it to our checkout service and doesn't keep it.
Our checkout service doesn't keep the address either. It keeps a scrambled version, made with a secret key, that can't be turned back into the address. It deletes the scrambled version after an hour.
Joining through a friend's invite
If you open a friend's invite link, we save their invite code in your browser. It's kept in a small file called a cookie, named joyora_invite. It holds the code and nothing else, and it lasts 30 days.
If the invite can't be applied when you check out, we set a second cookie, joyora_invite_not_applied, for one hour. It lets the welcome page tell you. It holds only the number 1.
Your friend can see your first name only if you agree. Under the Join button there's a box that says: "If you agree, your friend will be able to see just your first name in the app." It starts unticked, and ticking it is your agreement. We only record it when your friend's invite is applied to your subscription. If you leave it unticked, your first name isn't shown.
Counting visits
We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views on our website. It sets no cookies.
What stays in your browser
If you type your child's name on our homepage, it's used to personalise the page. It stays in that browser tab. It's never sent to us, and it's gone when you close the tab.
While you're away at checkout, the same tab remembers your first name and email so the welcome page can greet you. It's gone when you close the tab.
